Since 1943, the Alabama Retail Association has been dedicated to strengthening and supporting retailers across our state. We represent businesses of every size and sector, from family-owned shops to multi-location companies, ensuring the retail industry has a strong united voice.

Retailers are the Heart of Every Community
Retailers are at the heart of every community, and the Alabama Retail Association is here to make sure they continue to thrive today and for the future. Formed by retailers who saw a need for a seat at the table when public policy was made, the Association has spent more than 80 years advocating for the industry across Alabama and in Washington, D.C.
Today, we represent more than 4,500 members with some 6,000 locations statewide, selling everything from groceries and clothing to furniture and medicine. Whether engaging the Alabama Legislature, electing pro-business candidates through Retail PAC, or providing members with cost-effective workers’ compensation coverage and employment law resources, we are here to make sure Alabama’s retail community has a strong voice and the support to back it up.
