MONTGOMERY – Jodie Stanfield, owner of Local Joe’s, recently was elected to the Alabama Retail Association’s board of directors. Stanfield’s term begins Jan. 1, 2018. Local Joe’s, a farm-to-plate and barbecue restaurant, market, bakery and caterer, has locations in Rainbow City and Alexandria. There is also a licensed location of Local Joe’s in Cave Spring, Georgia.
Jodie has been in the restaurant business for 32 years. While he has been associated with TGI Fridays, LongHorn Steakhouse and Applebee’s, mostly in the Birmingham area, he returned to his native Etowah County in 2009 to combine his passion for food with his love for everything local.
The Alabama Retail Association honored Jodie and his wife, Karen, as the 2017 Gold Retailers of the Year in the Annual Sales $1 Million to $5 Million category. Jodie also was named by the U.S. Small Business Administration as its 2017 Alabama Small Business Person of the Year.
Jodie and Karen Stanfield have three adult children, two sons and a daughter.
