Alcohol sales are now allowed on city sidewalks or decks within Mobile’s entertainment districts.

The governor signed Act No. 2017-87 into law on March 29, 2017. It was effective immediately. The new law (HB185 by Rep. James Buskey, D-Mobile) also increases the city’s entertainment districts from two to five.

Under the law, retail liquor license holders within the city’s entertainment districts can sell alcoholic beverages on a city sidewalk or deck immediately adjacent to or connected to their premises.
