Regina Hardy is a driver license specialist for the Birmingham District in the Birmingham Driver License Office of the Alabama Department of Public Safety. She has been with the department for 24 years and a state employee for more than 36 years. In her job, she reinstates driver licenses and works to prevent fraud. She is the Driver License Specialist of the Year for the sixth time (2005, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013).

Her life isn’t all about her work. She also is a mother of two – Marquita Leonard and Victor Hardy – and a sister to three siblings – Victoria Raby, Yvonne Richey and Jimmie King. A native of Birmingham, she was educated at Ullman High School and Booker T. Washington Business College. She actively serves in the Women’s Missionary Society, the Mass Choir and the A.L. Lamar Cathedral Choir at Grant Chapel AME Church. She is the previous director of Grant Chapel AME Church Eastlake Young People’s Division of the Women’s Missionary Society of the Ninth Episcopal District of the North Alabama Conference, where she served eight years.
