Hiring Our Heroes Job Fair

A free Hiring Our Heroes job fair for veteran job seekers, including active duty military, Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 7 at the Birmingham CrossPlex (Harris Arena) 2331 Bessemer Road, Birmingham.

Today’s veterans make highly qualified employees, with excellent training, management skills, the ability to work in teams and, thanks to the GI Bill, often have attained a higher level of education than the average applicant.

The Alabama Retail Association encourages potential employers to participate in this FREE event. Be sure to bring employment applications and be ready to meet with potential employees. The arena can accommodate close to 100 employer participants, however space is filling up. Advance registration is recommended for employers. For more information, go to www.hiringourheroes.org.

This hiring event is being conducted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the Birmingham Business Alliance, the Department of Labor Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (DOL VETS), the Alabama Committee of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), the United States Army Reserve (USAR), the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, The American Legion, Goodwill Industries International, NBC News, and other local partners.
