Melissa joined the Alabama Retail Association in August 2015, as manager of communications and engagement. She is an integral part of the association’s communication team, engaging members, the media and the public on retail matters as well as educating them about the programs and services offered by the association.

She came to Alabama Retail after almost eight years in various positions at WSFA 12 News in Montgomery, including noon anchor and Today in Alabama reporter.

A native of Cullman, Warnke graduated in 2009 from Auburn University with a mass communications degree.

Melissa has strong connections to the Montgomery community. She was a member of the EMERGE Torchbearers Leadership Class V, is the provisional chair for the Junior League of Montgomery, is president of the Clefworks board of directors and is an advisory board member for the LifeSouth Blood Bank of Central Alabama. Melissa is also a member of the Public Relations Council of Alabama.

She and her husband, Adam, reside in Montgomery and have one daughter. They are members of Saint Paul Lutheran Church.
